how about the ‘hundreds’ of ‘Fortune 500’ companies that have paid NO TAXES in recent years ? This cartoon is a joke for sure if this person thinks those items would cover the economic wreckage caused by the Bush regime over his 8 years with the Repubs controlling EVERY branch of Gov., missing pallets of money in Iraq, photos of people playing catch with shrink wrapped bundles of money (that stuff also became ‘unaccounted for’), cost plus ‘no bid contracts’,..good grief this list goes on, and on..and the joke is that someone could pick those few crumbs in the cartoon as the needed food for a worldwide hunger. Hey my neighbor didnt pay taxes on some stuff at the flea mkt., could that make up the dif’?

Here’s a really convenient way to avoid paying taxes, as a corporation: MAKE NO PROFIT!

Yeah, those airlines were really sneaky when they were losing billions of dollars every year.

Stick it to the man, ALIASALIAS. Your logic is astounding.

In a financial report there was this little statement in their story about Merck getting a ‘record’ fine for tax evasion (this means ‘profit’ was made…BIG time)”..in the era of globalisation. It’s one of the ploys in a corporate bag of tricks called profit laundering. A company figures out how to move its book profits offshore so it can evade millions and even billions in taxes to the country where it really operates. In an era where much of a company’s assets may be intangible intellectual property – patents, logos, manufacturing processes – this strategy can make reported profits and taxes disappear.”… Oh yeah that was TAXPAYERS money witheld, and the same goes for my above mentioned mention of ‘flats’ of money that went missing..you remember that big investigation by the Bush/whitehouse and the republican house,& Senate about that ? If you do, wake up,…didnt happen. Its not ‘sticking it to the man’..its recognized as revenue, and in Merck’s case (just one example out of MANY) its THEFT…BIG TIME…BUT HEY JUST TREAT IT AS SOME MORE ‘MISSING’ FLATS OF MONEY. ‘what we worry’.

ALIAS, First off, it’s a joke. And with me, the point is well taken. These people want to tax us all this money, and then they turn around and try and evade the taxes they impose. I’ll bet Kerry, Geithner and Obama had no problem paying the Bush tax rates. They are all plenty rich, and while the Obama tax rates will raise their tax rates, rich people have the power to figure out ways around those taxes.

If we lowered taxes and regulations then companies (and John Kerry) wouldn’t need to find ways to elude taxes. They don’t have a money coming in problem in Washington, they get more than enough from taxes to run the government. They have a money going out problem. They spend way too much. Both parties. But let’s say the government was a car buyer. The government can only really afford a new Chevy Malibu. The Republicans went out and splurged money they didn’t have and bought a Cadillac STS. Meanwhile the Democrats went crazy and bought a Mercedes S550.
