Bad News and Good News

As John Steinbeck is purported to have said, Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires. That’s the only reason I can see why people in the US continue to vote against their own interests.

    I ❤ (heart) reddit!

When you see something here and in reddit, it is just as likely that they picked it up from me!

p.s. I’ve been posting photos to that new subreddit, EarthPorn.

p.p.s. If you like one of my postings, I encourage people to submit it to reddit. Keeps the community growing. Same thing for stumbleupon.

Astounding! The great American corporatist’s propaganda machine effected generations – even across the color-gap, well past reasonable realistic thinking, even distorting common logic! We are witnessing the latter days of the last, the greatest, Caucasian empire the world will ever know, and she goes down with her own people blind-folded with bull-Shiite promises of possible great wealth in their future, and a better life ahead!
I remember well, the mythology of the ‘Beverly Hill-Billies. but as a Canadian I knew the message did not include me! I knew I was to toil in the mines, in the fields, work til my back was broken then retire on socialist safety nets set out by my government – we had no illusions. We saw the men from the mine, dying of silicosis, broken bodies, poisoned beyond repair. We watch as lovely American families resolved petty social problems, families with everything a materialist could buy with money, well displayed in the back-grounds – “product placing” I was taught later at school! Few on my street even had cars when I was a boy! Most men carried ‘baloney buckets’ to the mine each day, or night – all worked shifts. Even some of the richer store keepers walked or took the bus. The whole American display even though it was in black and white on fuzzy TV screens, seemed far-fetched at least, if not surreal, and certainly not part of our reality at all! I shoveled coal for the family fires in the morning, walked to school, was taught by less than spectacular looking teachers, walked home to a modest meal, then did my homework before the barrage of disbelief, the ‘American Dream’ was pushed into my sub-conscious, mystifying me, entrancing me, my wonderment ever sharpened by the fine weather they always seemed to have. Was it all “for pretends” after all? I suppose so!

Great, great comment,Uncle B! Yes,we’re beginning to peer behind the curtain more and more. There is no OZ the great and terrible, only some sad little men playing the organ.

If they can keep everyone distracted, keep the fear and hatred up, Dem vs Rep,us vs. them – then they continue to amass their obscene fortunes while the masses lose everything to heartless banks.

    Wake Up!!

Get a job, you lazy bum. There’s nothing out there you’ve got the qualifications for? Well, that’s what we call consequence. Guess you’ll have to take one of those jobs you’re too stuck up and white to do. But no, let’s blame it on the rich. It’s clearly their fault you’re not successful.
