Gingrich: A Man of Substance! What’s He Smoking?

In this video of Newt Gingrich speaking at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government Nov 18th (warning: starts with commercial), Newt Gingrich said:

It is tragic what we do in the poorest neighborhoods, entrapping children in, first of all, child laws, which are truly stupid. Most of these schools ought to get rid of the unionized janitors, have one master janitor and pay local students to take care of the school. The kids would actually do work, they would have cash, they would have pride in the schools, they’d begin the process of rising.

Adults are already having enough problems finding work without having to compete against slave wage children! Republican efforts to increase the age limit for Social Security won’t help those stuck between childhood and the grave much either.

This same weekend, Gingrich also said Occupy Wall Street protesters should “get a job.” Given that there are at least five unemployed for every job opening, Newt’s advice is more callous than helpful. Newt, how about you get a heart.

It’s amazing how all these artists sketching up Newt take such care in depicting his jowels. They seem to draw the eye in a “bad car accident” kind of way.

Newt is all about substance, just not any substance anyone really wants. While he made a good point about not deporting illegals who have been here for 20+ years in the last debate, he also suggested that children be hired to clean their own schools because child labor laws limit the next generation of laborers from getting a jump start on experience. He’s like a Mitt Romney who believes in every side of the issue, but does so at the same time.

Newt proves my theory that a person can be very intelligent & a complete moron simultaneously.
