All I Want For Christmas is a Republican Debate

It is the gift that keeps on giving. Even after the primary is over, when the presidential election rolls around it will be fun watching the anointed GOP candidate walk back every crazy thing he or she said in order to secure the nomination from the party base.

Somehow I think the problem is less that candidates will have to walk stuff back, more that the base and even the middle doesn’t care or still isn’t smart enough to understand that these folks will say and do most anything to be elected.

Stewart and others will have material to last the rest of their lives but the MSM no doubt won’t cover it. Krugman had it right the other day with his editorial about Romney’s lies about Obama.

I just read that Trump has changed parties, to keep alive the possibility he might join the general election. Oh, how special.

This means that Trump has been a Democrat, then a Republican, and now an Independent.

Even worse, Trump says he is about to take over “Americans Elect”. Well, that’s the end of that organization.

Richard, you should include links for articles you mention, so other people can read them. Here’s Krugman’s article on “post-truth politics” — definitely worth a read. Krugman even takes PolitiFact to task for making false equivalences (and I agree).

Wonders never cease, huh IK. If we’re lucky he’ll name Palin early as his running mate. Now that would be pure entertainment, or maybe he’ll start a new reality show…

If Trump wants to create a new party he should name it the Attention Whore party. I can think of lots of candidates who party to that!

I realized while talking with my neighbor that there is a huge segment (70%? I have no statistics) who have only news bias on television. Right or left bias. Unless they listen to radio, they have no other source of news. No Internet or don’t read the news and no newpaper. Very scary. I guess everyone else realized this except me.
