The Magic of the Media

I’m sure most everyone has already seen this, but apparently fewer people than the number who watched the original fake video. My only question is, how much stuff that you and I see on the internet is faked, and how much of that is taken seriously by the so-called journalists in the mainstream media?

A direct result of the news media’s attempt to keep up with the internet in terms of entertainment. If you think about it, the video is perfect news bait. It has someone getting hurt just bad enough for the anchors to laugh and say the word “fail” as if they’re “hip with how the kids are talking”. It also has twerking, which has the sex appeal to bring in views and allows people to talk about Miley Cyrus and society’s crumbling moral fiber.

Maybe this will lead to fewer “viral video” segments on the news. But that’s probably just my wishful thinking talking.
