How to make a person

The Supreme Court makes Pinocchio due for a rewrite, now that the easiest way to create a real person is to incorporate. Of course, in the fairy tale, greedy and bad boys are turned into donkeys on Pleasure Island. Too bad that doesn’t happen in real life, or we would have a lot less problems with greedy corporations, especially those that go “offshore” to avoid taxes.

This to me further highlights the Hobby Lobby debate. It’s a blunt way of saying it, but this line from the comic is true: “I’m a corporation! I can’t have a conscience! I have a fiduciary duty to my shareholders!” How can that be reconciled with the ruling that Hobby Lobby the corporation apparently has religious beliefs and a conscience that need to be protected by the second amendment?

“How can that be reconciled”? Speaking as someone who has run several corporations, the answer is simple. It cannot.

Greedy people turning into monkeys. I think we’d be looking at some sort of Planet of the Apes situation if that happened.
