Trump: Pants on Fire

Donald Trump makes statements that earn him a “Pants on Fire” rating from PolitiFact 52 times more often than Barack Obama did while he was president. To put this in perspective, that means that Trump tells as many obvious, egregious, ridiculous lies in one week as Obama did in a whole year of his presidency.

What’s even more amazing is that Trump lies about things that are easily refuted, with absolutely no regard for the truth or reality. And yet, a third of Americans still believe him. Although that number is slowly dropping.

7 Pants-on-fire for Obama during his entire presidency vs. 5 Pant-on-fire for Trump during his entire presidency, so not nearly as many as Obama, right? Right?

Campaign rhetoric aside, I’m stunned that Obama was that out of line, but Trump is doing what he can to make it easier for future presidents by lowering the proverbial bar… while America is stuck taking the place of the frog in a pot of water on the burner, ratcheting things up just a tiny bit more every day.

Being in the position of being able to say, “I told you so,” does not help.
