I was with E*Trade for years until I tried to transfer money from my account to my son’s account in the same company. After the third try “you have to do this, this and this.” “No, you have to do this, this and this”, “no, you have to do this this and this” (included getting things notarized) I pulled my accounts and went to Investor Owned Vanguard. I get a cold call from E*Trade. “What if we offered you 5% in your investments?” This in 2007 or 2008. Of course, Morgan Stanley and the others are much worse than E*Trade. I found there was only one way to invest. “do it yourself and don’t listen to anyone.”
EBDoug- See any trends when we change Presidents? Made out pretty good selling tech stocks the summer of 2000. Everyone in the group “game” said I was crazy, I stood firm, they lost. Shared this on facebook, I wonder how long it will take before e*trade takes this to court.
