An interesting article about the Time magazine cover naming Donald Trump the “Person of the Year”.
The article concludes “As a photograph, it’s a rare achievement. As a cover, it’s a statement.”
As someone who has studied art, I must say I think they are spot-on. If you are at all interested in how photographs work (especially as propaganda, both pro and con) I recommend you read the whole (short) article. After all, this is the closest thing I’ve seen to good news in a few days.

I found the article interesting. I had never given any thought to how these pictures might have meanings other than being just a photo. I know Herr Trump commented on how it’s called “Person” of the Year. He wants to be called “Man” of the Year, but as far as I’ve heard, made no comment about the picture itself. Unless he reads this article, he probably, like me, never picked up on the nuances.
I too missed the nuances but after reading it, I think subconsciously was influenced.
To that analysis, I would like to add the rumpled, I’ll-fitting suit, and what appears to be a worn-out Prince of Wales feather design on the back of the well-worn chair!
