Reset?

Donald Trump attempted to reset his flailing campaign today at a speech in Pennsylvania. So about the women who are accusing him of sexual misconduct he said “All of these liars will be sued.”

Nevertheless, I’m willing to make a bold (and maybe crazy) prediction. I could very well be proven wrong, but I suspect that within a year after the election Trump will make a full reversal, maybe even become a Democrat again, and say positive things about Hillary Clinton.

Why? Well, his business is a mess. He had to give up the Miss Universe pageant, and reservations at his hotels and resorts are down. Assuming that plans to launch a news network don’t work out, I suspect there is nothing else for him to do. And I am willing to bet he needs the money.

Does anyone else agree, or is this just wishful thinking on my part?

Like you said, it depends on what happens with TrumpTV/LiberTV.

He will be neck deep in law suits and troubles. The Trump U lawsuit is going forward. There is a 13 year old jane-doe rape law suite. His foundation is under review. They might order him to return the collected donations and declare some of the payments by third parties should have been classified as income. IRS audit is going to assess him back taxes. Since his lawyers will be totally pre-occupied, the campaign staff will feel emboldened and break non-disclosure agreements and write tell-all books.

His supporters are very vocal and form the deciding chunk of the Republican party. So the leaders are mum. They are extremely angry at him, but they are keeping quiet biding their time. Post election, his supporters will be fed the line, “our message is good and correct, but our messenger is flawed”. Whoever sells that message to his base, be it Rubio, be it Cruz, be it Pence will peel off his base. At that point Trump will be defenseless. The feeding frenzy will set in. He will be in position worse than Sarah Palin is in.

I think the story that he might start a media network catering to Trumpublicans is a likely outcome.

I hope he goes broke, moves into Junior’s basement, balloons to 400 pounds and spends the rest of his years twittering away to a dwindling basket of deplorables.
I don’t usually wish things like that on anyone but I’m feeling pretty bitter about what he’s put us through.

Deport him to Scotland or Germany for “inciting to riot.” He is an anchor baby. Southern Poverty Law center has him on their “hate List”

EBDOUG, I doubt Germany or Scotland would want him. We might have to instead build a wall around his apartment and make him pay for it.

There are still approx 35% of the electorate who support him — that’s plenty for him to build a media company.

So to me it comes down to will he make more money from media vs. the hotels? I am betting on the media company. It is better for his ‘self-image’ and he can off-load his hotels on the banks!

I’m basing some of this on the fact that apparently he has had a falling out with Roger Ailes, and I’d be willing to guess that he isn’t getting along very well with Steve Bannon. Without them, no media company.

And all those rabid supporters will move on, just like they always have, once Trump is shown to be a loser.

    But who knows.

I don’t have to wish anything bad on him, as he seems to be screwing himself just fine.

IK – guess I’d ask how turning Democrat and sucking up to the Clintons (again) would really profit him, personal gain being his prime and sole concern, of course. I mean with regard to his carefully crafted base of millions of knuckledraggers who, despite being primo P.T. Barnum suckers, would likely smell a bait and switch when they see a Clinton involved. Besides, after Hillary mopped the floor with him three consecutive times, he knows full well who’s pussy was grabbed, and I don’t picture him making that kind of full reversal, not yet anyway. Maybe at 80.

I’m leaning with the majority opinion here (so far), in that he appears to already be speaking past the election with the repeated and baseless allegations of a rigged election and a liberal media conspiracy, yadda yadda. He recently put Ailes and Bannon, a couple of right wingnut (and sexual harassment) media moguls, on his team and his son-in-law has reportedly already been in contact with some major media organization. LiberTV? Sam, you should trademark that one, unless Trump already has! On the bright side, at least then we’ll know which channel Trump will be on every day so we can shut him off.

He’ll may continue to have some real estate interests of sorts, various and sundry golf courses and such, though he’s often ended up in the bunker there too, like in Florida and Ireland.

As far as the hotel business, as you said, his prospects look pretty bleak, given his history and now with lenders of any size more recently keeping their distance, wary of being stiffed again. There’s an interesting and revealing blog post by Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Group) describing his first meeting with Trump. Kind of chilling, if not pathetic. I’m not a psychologist, but have to think a full and accurate clinical description of his unique brand of social pathology would be a mouthful.

Hadn’t heard of a falling out with Ailes or Bannon but it wouldn’t surprise me, a confined pack of fat old entitled alpha males in a pissing contest. However that shakes out, Trump will be sure to take whatever credit he can steal and blame everyone and anyone but himself for the ginormous steaming piles he leaves in his wake.

It just looks like ever since Pussygate and his continuing slide in the polls, he seems to be tacking towards positioning himself as some kind of crusader, an outsider who also knows the system because he’s greased and fucked it over with aplomb, a veritable media messiah (after all, we now know from the Al Smith dinner speech he was a carpenter working for his father, for almost two whole weeks no less), a tough deal maker who works tirelessly against the rigged economy, bad hombres foreign and domestic, and a liberal media in cahoots with international bankers (wink wink, those jewy jews). Glenn Beck on steroids.

We’ll see soon enough, I guess.

He may be able to redeem himself by claiming to have played this whole game in order to give the election to Hillary and not a more palatable republican. He could conceivably become a hero to those who dislike him the most.
I doubt that it is true but he clearly is not afraid to fabricate a story to benefit himself.

It looks like he’ll get about 30-35% of the votes so he my try to make money out of that segment of the population by catering to racism, immigration concerns and election unfairness. So the right wing fox news could very well migrate to Trump media and he could make money of that.

I’m more interested in what will happen to the trump kids. Will they continue to back his views if they realize it’ll do their investments more harm than good?
