UPDATE: It turns out that Cliven Bundy’s claimed “ancestral rights” to graze cattle “from the time the very first pioneers come here [sic]” are a lie. A local TV station discovered that his parents bought their ranch in 1948, and didn’t start grazing cattle there until 1954.
Protestors are claiming that Bundy is being forced off his land, just like the Indians were:
They are literally treating western United States citizens, ranchers, rural folks like this- are the modern day Indians. We’re being driven off of our lands. We’re being forced into reservations known as cities.
Ironically, the Paiute Indians were forced onto reservations in 1875, but two years before that they were promised the very land where Bundy’s ranch is located.

That is perhaps (depressingly) my favorite line that I have ever read on this site, because it is true. Imagine how Fox’s coverage would have changed if they had been any other race.

After reading your links on the previous post IK, I thought Bundy possibly fell into the category of hapless idiot being manipulated by the right media for ratings gains. Unfortunately I was wrong, Bundy appears to have led them into the lion’s den and they happily followed.

This is more fun than Duck Dynasty and the Stupids. Once more we see Fox News, embodied by Sean Hannity, look sound and taste like the complete uninformed fools they are. Before any facts are out Hannity is actually defending a law-breaker, then attempting to deny he ever said anything. When will they pull this program and put next to Real Housewives and other usless programs?
