The Democracy of Humor

The New York Times is letting readers submit humor, which they publish (after editing out the rude comments, I suppose). Some of it is pretty good: Political conventions are like professional wrestling. You already know what’s going to happen, but once every four years, its fun to watch. – Will Durst Doubtless some people are […]

McCain – Republican Gigolo

Three days ago I did a post asking if John McCain was a gigolo. Well, reader John Dolon sent me an answer in the form of a video, titled “John McCain: Republican Gigolo”. Enjoy: From John Dolon at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Clinton delegate in GOP ad thinks McCain is pro-choice

The McCain campaign is running an ad featuring Debra Bartoshevich, a female Hillary Clinton delegate to the Democratic convention who says that she will be voting for McCain, and encourages other Democrats to do the same. But when asked how someone like her who is pro-choice could vote for McCain, she said that as far […]

The ad that should have been run during the Olympics

Wouldn’t this have been a good TV spot to run during the Beijing Olympics: “Sponsor” (60 seconds) Voiceover: “Ever wonder what Washington has done with your tax dollars? This Olympics is your chance to find out. For the last 8 years, the Bush administration has been paying China billions of dollars in interest on the trillions […]

I just don’t know about this Obama fellow

© Tom Tomorrow The Electoral Vote site has an excellent analysis on whether governmental experience is any predictor of how good a president will be. For example, James Buchannan was the most experienced person ever elected president, but he is considered to be one of the worst (only slightly edged out by Warren G. Harding […]

Fox News goes Ironic

The Fox News website posts a “No Spin Poll” asking “What is the most biased news outlet in America?” and gives four choices. Ironically, none of the choices is Fox News itself: from eyje. The choices are the New York Times, MSNBC, Associated Press, and NPR. Gee, I guess they forgot the Washington Post!

McCain pokes conservatives in the eyes, then expects them to blindly follow him

Over at conservative Michelle Malkin’s blog people are upset at McCain. Why? Because the Republican National Committee (RNC) is running a radio ad that, in Malkin’s words, is pure “hispandering”. The ad, in Spanish, tries to paint McCain as a friend to Hispanics because of his support for amnesty for illegal aliens (or as Malkin […]
