The Joke is On Us

Go read Matt Taibbi’s latest column in Rolling Stone, “In the Year of Trump, the Joke Was On Us.

Yes, even if you are sick and tired of reading about Trump. This isn’t about Trump, it is about us.

UPDATE: If you need something lighter to read on this fine New Year’s day, I suggest you peruse the article in Salon about Ronald Reagan. It turns out that the GOP saint was not only grossly ill informed, he just didn’t care, and spent the majority of his presidency either on vacation or napping. Oh, and his schedule was controlled by an astrologer.

I was reading AP raw news yesterday, New Year’s Eve Day. I scrolled through all the headlines and did not once see that name, even in connection with bridge.

reagan closed the mental institutes. Latest “terrorist” looking for attention in Rochester is in and out of jail all the time, instead of an institute where he belongs. As it is said, this country uses the jails for mental institutes.

Reagan could say his lines, but his Alzheimer must have started before he was elected. People with Alzheimer can be very witty. They are living in the exact present where they can respond, then forget. Perfect example is the person who can read just fine, the same page over and over as it is gone as soon as the page ends. If you have a name tag, they can walk up and call you by name, then it is gone.

And I keep wondering what this other person is on that he can’t remember what obscene message he has just said.
